In the last 12 months, the Digitalization Department of the

Community of Madrid

has incorporated new functionalities into the

Virtual Health Card

(TSV) that allow users of this application to be invited to participate in early detection programs for three types of

tumors: cervix, colon and breast

. Specifically, last April the Cervicam alerts were activated, in December, those for Prevecolon, and in February, those for breast cancer. Since then, a total of 349,484 digital notifications have been sent through the TSV so that their recipients can undergo the necessary tests to rule out any anomaly.

This new service makes it possible to gain agility and speed in the management of

screening for the early detection of these types of cancer

. Until now, patients who met the requirements to be included in these preventive plans received the notice to be part of it by letter; In it they were given the instructions they had to follow to take the tests.

Now, through the TSV you can view the alert and immediately, without leaving the application,

request an appointment to begin the necessary procedures

, thereby saving time for the patient and the healthcare system.

The TSV is an application managed by the

Department of Digitalization

that brings together in a single virtual space several of the main administrative and clinical procedures that affect Madrid residents, so that a citizen can have procedures

at the click of a button

that, otherwise, They could require several trips or phone calls.

Thus, for example, as a user of the app you can request and modify health appointments with your family doctor, nursing staff or specialists, always carry your medical history, prescribed medication and donor cards, consult the on-call pharmacies or hospitals closest to your location, manage the card for children or dependents in your care or be notified of your incorporation into any of the preventive programs of the Ministry of Health.

NEW IMPROVEMENTS FOR MORE THAN 3.1 MILLION USERS

To be a user of the virtual card, it is necessary

to download the application on a mobile device

and register by entering a code provided at the health center or by calling the toll-free patient service number 900 102 112. Coming soon, in a new update, it will not be necessary to go to the health center and you can register by signing the application using a digital certificate or any of the identification systems of the Public Administrations (Identifica, Cl@ve...).

Since the TSV was launched, the Department of Digitalization has been gradually introducing more than fifteen new improvements so that the

more than 3.1 million users

that this service already has can process their requests with greater agility and speed every day. relationship with Madrid public health.

Among the most innovative services is the

automatic alert

to be invited to any of the three currently active cancer screenings, with the invitation to the Prevecolon program being the most active in terms of the number of notifications processed. Since this update went live on December 28, 208,000 invitations have been sent.

Colorectal cancer represents the

second cause of death from cancer in

our country and is the most common malignant tumor considering the total population. The probability of survival can be multiplied by 6 with early detection and up to 90% of patients can be cured if diagnosed early. Up to 60% of deaths from colorectal cancer can be avoided with an adequate screening program.

The Colon and Rectal Cancer Detection program of the Community of Madrid is aimed at the entire population between the ages of

50 and 69
