New Russian strikes on kyiv. Several explosions were heard on Monday March 25 in the center of the Ukrainian capital, just after an air alert announcing Russian missiles in its direction, AFP journalists noted.

At least five explosions were heard around 10:30 a.m. (0830 GMT) after the air alert indicating "missiles towards kyiv".

"Explosion in kyiv. Head to shelters immediately," the city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, wrote on Telegram.

"According to preliminary information, as a result of a missile attack on Kiev, debris was recorded in the Pechersky district. A residential building was damaged," said the head of the Kiev military administration, Sergii Popko.

Ukraine has suffered massive strikes in recent days which have particularly targeted the energy network, leaving several hundred thousand people without electricity.
