Gérald Darmanin had announced earlier in the day “several” “XXL net square” operations this Monday throughout France. As in Marseille last week, the objective is to fight against drug trafficking. “More than 187 arrests” therefore took place, he declared.

“More than 187” people were arrested this Monday morning as part of “square net XXL” anti-drug operations carried out simultaneously in several cities in France, announced the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin. “As I speak to you, there have been more than 187 arrests,” he declared during a trip to Roubaix. These operations took place in the Lille metropolis, in the Lyon metropolitan area, in Marseille, in Dijon and in the Paris region, he said.
