A showdown is imminent in the fraud trial against Donald Trump: The former US president must pay more than $450 million in bail today. If Trump does not deliver, he will face confiscation of property by the state of New York.

It is unclear whether Trump can raise the sum. His lawyers recently let it be known that it would not be possible to raise the full amount of the appeal bond. However, Trump himself claimed a little later that he had "almost $500 million in cash."

Shortly before the decision, Trump's son Eric does not contribute to the clarification of his father's financial capacity, but uses the opportunity to speak clearly against the legal authorities.

Eric Trump: "Nobody has ever seen an appeal bond this high"

“Nobody has ever seen an appeal bond that high,” Eric Trump told Fox News. Accordingly, he was laughed at when he tried to raise the sum. "The executives of big insurance companies had never seen anything on this scale," Trump claimed. The 40-year-old himself holds a top position in the Trump Organization.

Eric Trump also provided suggestions as to what would have been a suitable demand from the judiciary. “A $10 million bond is a big bond. A $15 million bond is a huge bond,” said Eric Trump.

Seizures could begin on Tuesday

If Trump doesn't deposit the money, New York prosecutor Letitia James could begin confiscating Trump's assets and property as early as Tuesday morning, according to the Guardian.

The Trump son also spread a conspiracy story about the motives of the judiciary. "They're trying to put my father out of business or take all of his resources that would otherwise be put into his presidential campaign," said Eric Trump.

Donald Trump wants to move into the White House again in the presidential election in November and has already emerged as the top candidate in the preliminary rounds within the Republican Party.

The court case in New York and the legal dispute over the million-dollar bond is just one of many that is currently keeping Trump busy: the main hearing has not yet begun in four criminal cases, and civil proceedings are also ongoing. He was also ordered to pay $83.3 million in another case.
