France: new threats of attack against educational establishments in Hauts-de-France

After Île-de-France, it is the turn of the Hauts-de-France region to be affected by threats of attacks against educational establishments. Here again, the threat actors hacked the computer systems of middle and high schools.

“ 

On Monday, 122 establishments will explode

 ”: this is the message received from parents of students in the north of France, Friday March 22 and Saturday March 23. The authors entered the ENT, this online communication platform for teachers and students.

The academies of Lille and Amiens confirm that five establishments were affected during the night from Friday to Saturday. In response, the Amiens rectorate announced reinforced security for establishments, which will remain open on Monday.

Already on Thursday March 21,

around thirty high schools in the Paris region

had received a similar message via the same platform, but this time, it was accompanied by a beheading video. The Prime Minister, Gabriel Attal, affirmed that the perpetrators were already being hunted down and that they would be punished.

Since

the knife attack in a high school in Arras

which cost the life of a teacher on October 23, 2023, bomb threats in educational establishments have increased. Last fall, the government counted 800.
