RIA Novosti reports this with reference to CNN.

“Israel agreed to the proposal put forward by CIA Director Bill Burns... a diplomatic source confirmed the accuracy to CNN,” the channel reports.

It is noted that the US proposal involves the release by Israel of about 700 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of 40 Israeli hostages by Hamas.

Hamas previously claimed that Israel rejected its proposal for a truce in the Gaza Strip.

Also, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after negotiations with United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken, said that Israel would like to count on Washington’s support in the matter of conducting a ground operation in Rafah, but is ready to conduct it independently.
