“I deliberately ran there, to that corner, for some reason I thought: if the glass is broken, we can get out of there into the street,” she said.

According to Anna, at first she and her friend did not understand that they were shooting - the sounds were similar to cabinets falling or firecrackers exploding. When people began to scatter, they ran into a nook.

“A lot of people packed [there]. It turns out that I was closer to the window onto the street, but apparently, when they [the terrorists] had already approached and started shooting at our corner where we were all located, the bullets broke through the glass,” she said.

According to her, those who managed to escape ran to the parking lot.

By that time, ambulances and police were already on their way there. Anna added that through the glass they saw armed terrorists ascending the escalator to the second floor.
