Simultaneous prayer was held inside a common hall in a church in New York (communication sites)

Muslims, Christians, Jews and Hindus in New York City performed a prayer at the same time to express their solidarity with besieged Gaza and to demand an immediate ceasefire in the Strip, which has been exposed to the ongoing Israeli war for about 6 months.

Yesterday, Friday, religious groups, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and “Jews for Racial and Economic Justice” (American Judaism), circulated pictures and video clips on social media sites showing Muslims, Christians, and Jews performing prayers at the same time in one room inside a church in order to... Praying for the besieged people of Gaza.

The video clips also showed the worshipers, most of whom were wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh, praying for Gaza, with looks of sympathy and extreme sadness on their faces for the suffering of the Palestinians since the beginning of the Israeli war.

We intentionally held Jewish, Christian, and Muslim prayers in the same room at the same time, letting the sounds of our traditions and prayers wash over each other as we prayed together. #Iftar4Ceasefire #BreakFast4Ceasefire pic.twitter.com/6wHgUoMRmv

The group "Jews for Racial and Economic Justice" wrote in a post on its account on the X platform, "What a beautiful night in which the urgent moral call of Muslim, Jewish, Christian and Hindu leaders came together for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza."

The Jewish group also published pictures of a group breakfast hosted by the same church under the name “Iftar for a Ceasefire in Gaza.”

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of civilians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, a humanitarian catastrophe and massive infrastructure destruction, which led to Tel Aviv appearing before the International Court of Justice on charges of “genocide.”

As a result of the war and Israeli restrictions, the residents of Gaza, especially the Gaza and northern governorates, are on the verge of famine, amid a severe scarcity of food, water, medicine and fuel supplies, which has claimed the lives of children and the elderly, according to Palestinian and UN data.
