At the Palace of Culture in Ouagadougou, the muezzin's call to prayer announces the time to break the fast. According to Moumini Koudougou, one of the initiators of this ecumenical collective break from Christian fasting (Lent period) and Muslim fasting (Ramadan month), this gathering aims to advocate dialogue between the country's different religious communities. Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, and traditionalists therefore shared a meal, in a good-natured atmosphere, with the key words: cultivating union and cohesion between the different communities.

“

We seized this opportunity to be a springboard for social promotion, good living together, peaceful living together, fraternal living together. Show everyone that we must love each other, we must help each other, we must show solidarity with each other

 ,” he explains.

For imam Lassané Sakandé, differences of opinion or religious confessions should no longer be a source of

conflict

in Burkina Faso: “

He who believes in God, who knows God should not be angry with someone because he does not don't think like him, because he doesn't believe like him

!

 »

So that the Burkinabè can talk to each other and understand each other better, the evangelist Emmanuel Kafando encourages the multiplication of such actions: “

If we young people manage to find each other, to speak together, to tell each other certain truths, we will live in perfect harmony. and Burkina will regain its stability and that is all of our prayers.

 »

All participants in this gathering sang the national anthem of

Burkina Faso

in unison to signify their belonging to the same nation.
