The government media office in Gaza announced the death of 23 Palestinians and the injury of 23 others who were waiting for aid near the Kuwait Roundabout in Gaza City as a result of an Israeli bombing.

The media office added that members of the occupation army - in addition to tanks - opened fire with machine guns at the "hungry" who were waiting for bags of flour and aid in a remote place that did not pose a threat to the occupation, as part of the martyrs arrived at the Baptist Hospital, and a number of them remained with their bodies lying on the ground. .

The office held the American administration, the international community, and Israel fully responsible for the crime of genocide, and the war of starvation and famine that is deepening in the Gaza Strip, especially against 700,000 citizens in the Gaza and North governorates, and for the massacres and crimes they commit against civilians, children, and women on a daily basis.

He called on the countries of the world to put pressure on the occupation, in order to stop the war of genocide and ethnic “cleansing” that it is waging against the Palestinians, and to stop the famine immediately before it is too late.

The office called for the opening of the land crossings and the immediate entry of hundreds of thousands of tons of aid accumulated at the land crossings to our Palestinian people.

Agence France-Presse quoted Civil Defense spokesman in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, as saying, “The crime series is still continuing until this moment... The occupation forces have launched heavy shooting operations at citizens, and the injuries are very serious, and there are also people injured by shrapnel.”

On the other hand, the Israeli occupation army denied shooting at the crowd that was waiting for aid near the Kuwait roundabout, saying that these reports are incorrect.

Repeated targeting

This is not the first time that Israel has targeted aid convoys in Gaza. Last Tuesday, 23 Palestinians were martyred and others were injured in an Israeli bombing that targeted the popular committees supervising the distribution of aid at the Kuwait roundabout.

Last February, Israeli forces opened fire on hundreds of Palestinians as they gathered south of Gaza City waiting to receive humanitarian aid on Al-Rashid Street, in what is known as the “flour massacre,” which left 118 martyrs and 760 wounded, according to the Ministry of Health in the Strip.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has continued its devastating war on the Gaza Strip despite its appearance before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing genocide against the Palestinians.

In addition to human losses, the war caused an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, massive destruction of infrastructure and property, and the displacement of about two million Palestinians out of about 2.3 million in Gaza, according to Palestinian and UN data.

It is particularly difficult to deliver and distribute aid to more than 300,000 people still in the northern Gaza Strip. International reports warned that they would fall into famine within weeks in the absence of urgent intervention.

The Commissioner of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, warned this week that the blockade, hunger and diseases will soon become the main causes of death in Gaza.
