The authorities of

Barranquilla

are investigating the death of the Spanish citizen

Iker Samaniego Galarza

, whose body was found, with lacerations on the neck and a blow to the forehead, this week inside his home, in the southeast of this city in the Colombian Caribbean.

Samaniego lived for rent in the populous

Simón Bolívar neighborhood

and his body was discovered when the landlord of the house had to force the door because there was no response from inside, sources close to the case confirmed to EFE this Thursday.

Although the

Technical Investigation Corps (CTI)

of the Prosecutor's Office has not revealed details of the incident, neighbors stated that for six months Samaniego had been living with a Colombian woman, with whom, apparently, he had a strong altercation last Sunday.

As a result of the altercation, the Police arrived at the house and Samaniego was taken to a station in the neighborhood and hours later he was released. It was reported that the woman went to her mother's house after the fight.

The last time neighbors saw Samaniego was on Monday afternoon when he was drinking liquor at the door of his house.

It is known that Samaniego turned 34 on Wednesday and was originally from the city of

Vitoria
