“The sole decision of the Kyiv dictator not to hold presidential elections, apparently in fear of losing them, made in violation of the Constitution of Ukraine, makes him illegitimate from May 21,” the Russian diplomat said.

“Confusion and vacillation continue in the political leadership of Ukraine,” Nebenzya emphasized.

“Centrifugal tendencies are observed in Ukrainian society as a whole. Taking this into account, as well as the collapse in the support ratings of the leader of the Kyiv junta, the question arises: who does he even represent now?” - Nebenzya added.

At the end of February, Zerkalo Nedeli reported that Vladimir Zelensky’s office had submitted a request to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to receive clarification on his legitimacy as president after May 20, when his term of office expires.

Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky, who is in custody, believes that Zelensky’s office will try to confirm the legality of the extension of his powers, bypassing the decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
