Politics Game of thrones in the IU post Garzón: a sector promotes Maíllo to force Rego to agree
Catalonia The PSOE accuses Yolanda Díaz of putting herself "in profile" with the 'commons' in her threat to overthrow the Budgets in Barcelona
The bilateral negotiation between Más Madrid and Sumar has resulted in a political victory for the formation led by
Mónica García
, which will be the one who dominates the party structures in the Community. Specifically, as EL MUNDO has learned, the agreement states that
Yolanda Díaz
's party will not have "organizational development" in the capital.
De facto, this means that the brand that will prevail will be that of Más Madrid and that Sumar gives up implementing his own in the capital as he intended. Sources from the Madrid party, however, recognize that there will be municipal candidates, linked to Izquierda Unida or former Podemos factions - such as
Ganar Alcorcón
with
Jesús Santos
at the helm - that take refuge under the umbrella of Yolanda Díaz's party instead of under his. But they point out that
there will be no organic positions
for Sumar in the region.
From Díaz's party they avoid commenting on the content, and only official sources
celebrate the
closed pact "from mutual recognition" to "continue working together", with Sumar "as a shared project at the state level" and with Más Madrid " as a majority force in a space that is diverse within the Community of Madrid".
Regarding Sumar's refusal to create his own structure, leaders of the Madrid party point out: "That has been the only red line that has been raised from our side." The agreement, negotiated by
Josep Vendrell
on the side of Sumar and
Gabriel Ortega
for Más Madrid, concluded this week. In fact, on Wednesday, Mónica García's management sent an email to her enrollees warning that "in the coming days" they would be informed of "an important announcement" regarding her training.
This communication is
Sumar's resignation from implementing its brand
in the Community of Madrid. The party leadership has not yet set a date for when this final announcement will be made, although it is being considered that it will be after Easter, also because tomorrow the founding assembly of Sumar will be held and the organizational roadmap for Sumar will be approved there. the territorial expansion of Díaz's party.
Precisely this issue has been one of the most conflictive aspects and that has generated the most discomfort in the allied parties. Finally, Sumar continues
to guarantee control of 70%
of its national leadership, leaving the remaining 30% to be completed with people directly elected by the parties. However, Díaz has had to give in on how this will be expressed in the communities after a tough negotiation with IU and Más Madrid.
Sumar accepts that 70% of its quota in the autonomous directorates is chosen with the participation and "consensus" of the political forces with territorial implementation. In practice, this will mean, for example, that IU has
ample capacity to place people
in regions such as Andalusia or Asturias, where its tradition and weight place it as the reference. If there is no such agreement, it will be settled in primaries. In Navarra the same thing would happen with
Batzarre
.
The fact is that the Community of Madrid will, therefore, have a different logic. It will also happen in Catalonia, which for Sumar will have an even more special status because there will not be the slightest organizational development there. Díaz completely cedes that political space to the commons and the most he can hope for is to place someone on the management team of Catalunya en Comú. It is, Sumar sources argue, a consequence of the "historical tradition" that the
PCE
or IU previously had in Catalonia, with sovereign brands.
