Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said this in Brussels. There he took part in the EU Council at the level of country leaders.

“The trend is this: the countries of the eastern flank perceive this proposal completely normally, constructively and positively,” TASS quotes him.

At the same time, Nausėda said that some countries from other regions, especially from the south, “look at this proposal quite critically” and are striving to look for ways to de-escalate the situation.

The President of Lithuania did not specify which countries were being discussed.

Earlier, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said that he did not believe that the EU countries could agree on the deployment of their troops in Ukraine to help Kyiv in the fight against Russian troops. He made this admission before the start of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels.
