China News Service, Wuyishan, March 22 (Peng Dawei, Zhao Ligantian) "China has taken a leading position in the world in many fields such as economy, and its development is also constantly benefiting neighboring countries, because the 'world' concept in the essence of Chinese civilization advocates multiculturalism Harmonious coexistence." A few days ago, Santam Salikyo, a professor at the Department of Political Science at Tetso College in India, said in an exclusive interview with China News Service in Wuyishan, Fujian.

From March 21st to 24th, the first Wuyi Forum hosted by Renmin University of China and others was held in Nanping, Fujian. With the theme of "'Two Combinations' and the Modern Civilization of the Chinese Nation", Chinese and foreign guests gathered at the Zhuxi Garden in Wuyishan to talk about the Chinese cultural context and diverse civilizations.

Santam Salikyu, who came to attend the forum, noticed that new productivity has now become a new wave in China's economic development. He believes that the introduction of new productive forces not only shows that China is transforming into a modern and sustainable economic growth model, but further development will also enhance the development momentum of neighboring countries. He pointed out: "China has always advocated common prosperity with its neighbors."

Salikyo said frankly that some countries view world politics from the perspective of a zero-sum game. In their eyes, everything China does has "bad intentions", but this is not true. "The reason is that they don't understand Chinese culture at all."

Taking the joint construction of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative as an example, Salikyu pointed out: "Some countries claim that this is a means for China to seize the interests of other countries." However, in his view, the initiative is not conducive to promoting the establishment of peaceful coexistence and balanced development of major-country relations. The pattern is of great significance. Over the past 10 years, the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” has become the most popular international public product and the largest international cooperation platform.

He said that when dealing with different civilizations, Chinese civilization is good at resolving conflicts and building consensus on the basis of respecting differences and diversity. China and the West inevitably have differences on certain issues, "but China advocates seeking broad consensus on regional and international issues such as environmental change, nuclear issues, and terrorism to jointly promote world peace and development."

Salikyu expressed high appreciation for China's concept of tolerance and unity, believing that the vitality of socialism with Chinese characteristics is rooted in its "view of the world." He believes that in the concept of Chinese-style modernization, multiple civilizations can coexist harmoniously in a community with a shared future for mankind. This is the core of the "China Plan" of modernization. (over)
