Leader of the Ansar Allah organization, Abdul Malik Al Houthi, speaking on television (Anatolia)

Yesterday evening, Thursday, the Ansar Allah group (Houthis) announced future plans to carry out “more effective strikes on enemy ships,” in reference to ships affiliated with the United States, Britain, and Israel.

The group's leader, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, said in a televised speech, "We have plans of great importance in the future for more effective strikes on enemy ships (Israeli, British, and American)."

Al-Houthi did not reveal these plans, but he added, "At the military level, we continue to develop military action and operations more and more, and the options before us are many."

He continued, "Anything legitimate that we can do, we will do without hesitation or worry about the enemies' threats, classifications, and campaigns."

Al-Houthi considered that being able to "overcome American and Israeli technologies in monitoring, jamming, and interception is a victory and a major development for our military forces."

In his speech, Al-Houthi considered that "the tragedy in Gaza is a curse on the criminal killers and their supporters, and a disgrace on the foreheads of those who remain silent and onlookers."

Gaza tragedy

Al-Houthi pointed out that "the tragedy in the Gaza Strip is very large and unprecedented in the world, and is currently unparalleled in any country afflicted or in war."

He added, "The tragic scenes in Gaza are not stories to be told, but rather tragedies and pain that must revive the consciences of those who have a heart left."

In "solidarity with Gaza", which has been facing a devastating Israeli war since October 7, 2023, the Houthis have targeted, with missiles and drones, Israeli cargo ships or those linked to them in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.

As Washington and London intervened through a coalition that launched strikes on Houthi positions in Yemen and tensions took an escalating turn in January, the Houthi group announced that it now considered all American and British ships among its military targets.

Recently, the group said it would expand the strikes to “include enemy-linked ships passing through the Indian Ocean via the Cape of Good Hope route.”

The Israeli war on Gaza, which has been ongoing for more than 5 months, left tens of thousands of civilian victims, most of them children and women, and massive destruction, according to Palestinian and UN data, which led to Israel appearing, for the first time, before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing “genocide.”
