The family of the Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta, whose murder in Thailand Daniel Sancho is accused, will demand civil liability compensation of 410,000 euros from the young Spaniard before the Thai Justice.

The trial against Sancho, accused of the premeditated murder of Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta, will be held starting April 9 in Thailand. In addition to the charge of premeditated murder, to which he has pleaded not guilty, Sancho, 29, is accused of hiding the body after dismemberment, a crime that he has admitted and that could lead to up to a year in prison.

The Spaniard, who initially confessed to the crime and has been in provisional prison since last August 7, revealed that he is in "good spirits" and looking forward to the trial beginning, which will be held between April 9 and 3 May in a Samui court.
