According to investigators, we are talking about a former aviation employee named Jason Gray. The 28-year-old allegedly shared the image with other users, which "appears to have been classified." It was in his possession, likely due to access to intelligence data from the National Security Agency (NSA).

According to Axios, Gray could have obtained the information while he was in Alaska.

According to the portal, the man was assigned to the 301st Reconnaissance Squadron, where he was on duty at the NSA facility at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Gray was reportedly “upset and unhappy” about the move to the base, according to an affidavit he gave in November 2022.

Journalists note that Gray shared classified information with members of the “far-right Boogaloo movement.”

Another person involved in the case of leaking documents from the US Department of Defense, Jack Teixeira, previously pleaded guilty and agreed to a prison term of 16 years.
