The 24 new majors added this time include: high-power semiconductor science and engineering, biological breeding technology and other majors; electronic information materials, intelligent visual engineering, intelligent marine equipment and other majors; Chinese classics and other majors; health science and technology, sports and health Nutrition, football and other majors.
It is understood that this time, a total of 1,456 registered majors and 217 approved majors were added, including 160 nationally controlled majors and 57 new majors outside the catalog, and 46 majors were adjusted in degree award categories or years of study.
The majors registered, approved and adjusted this time will be included in the 2024 undergraduate enrollment plans of relevant universities.
In this major establishment work, 1,719 professional points were added or adjusted. At the same time, 1,670 professional points applied for cancellation by colleges and universities were recorded. The addition, withdrawal, and adjustment of a total of 3,389 professional points were involved, the largest number in history.
The person in charge of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education said that the number of professional points in disciplines such as engineering, education, and economics ranked among the top three, while the number of professional points in disciplines such as management and art decreased relatively.
In terms of subject categories, engineering has the largest number of professional points, with 1,322, accounting for 39%. This echoes the basic situation that engineering is the largest subject category.
In general, the professional structure and regional layout have been further optimized, and colleges and universities have become more rational in setting up majors.
