This opinion was expressed in his article by senior correspondent of the Lidovky publication Istvan Leko.
According to him, there are 1,442 billionaires living in Western countries, and if each of them transferred about $100 million a year to Kiev, the total amount would give Ukraine the opportunity to support the work of the state and provide itself with sufficient weapons and ammunition.
“But what Prime Minister Petr Fiala and President Petr Pavel would hear if they approached the Czech dollar billionaires with such a proposal, we can probably all guess,” Leko emphasized.
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba requested urgent assistance for Kyiv from the EU and the United States.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Ivan Gavrilyuk also stated that stocks of ammunition of certain types in Ukraine have fallen to a critical level.
