RBC writes about this.

“Starting March 30, users will no longer be able to make non-cash payments at POS terminals and withdraw cash from ATMs of other banks in the republic,” the message says.

It is noted that the infrastructure of VTB Armenia Bank (a subsidiary of the Russian VTB) will become an exception and will continue to work with Russian cards.

“This will not affect the operation of VTB (Armenia) cards in any way,” the publication added.

Previously, the United States imposed sanctions against the operator of the MIR payment system.

Also, the head of the Gagauz autonomy of Moldova, Evgenia Gutsul, appealed to the Russian authorities with a request to allow residents to remotely open accounts for cards of the MIR payment system, where bonuses could be accrued to pensioners, doctors, teachers and police officers.
