The occupation forces have escalated their operations in the West Bank since October 7 (French)

Last night and early Monday, the Israeli occupation forces launched a massive arrest campaign targeting a number of Palestinians in various areas of the occupied West Bank, while confrontations took place with resistant youths.

The arrests were distributed among the governorates of Ramallah, Bethlehem, Hebron, Jenin, Nablus, Tulkarm, and Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Club said that among the 25 detainees were a journalist and a freed prisoner, Rawda Abu Ajamiya, who was released as part of an exchange deal.

The same source explained, "The occupation forces continue to carry out widespread raids and abuse during arrest operations, accompanied by field investigations with dozens of citizens, severe beatings, and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to widespread sabotage and destruction operations in citizens' homes."

According to eyewitnesses, an Israeli military force stormed the camp - near the city of Bethlehem - at dawn, raided a number of homes, and arrested 10 Palestinians, including the freed prisoner Rawda Abu Ajamiya.

According to the same source, the occupation forces searched homes and wreaked havoc during the operation.

Rawda Abu Ajamiya was arrested on April 4, 2023 from her home, and spent about 7 months in Israeli prisons.

Confrontations and raids

This comes as confrontations took place between the occupation forces and Palestinians in the town of Al-Khader, south of the city of Bethlehem in the West Bank.

In Jerusalem, the occupation army stormed the village of Al-Issawiya and arrested a number of Palestinians.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that Israeli occupation forces stormed the town of Al-Samou', south of Hebron in the West Bank.

Al Jazeera's correspondent added that the occupation forces raided a number of homes in the town, and arrested a number of imams and preachers of the mosques there.

Scenes broadcast by local Palestinian platforms documented the Israeli occupation forces storming the city of Qalqilya, and also showed an aspect of the positioning of occupation vehicles in the city.

Since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, the army has escalated raids and arrests in the West Bank, resulting in the arrest of 7,630 citizens, according to institutions concerned with prisoners’ affairs.

In the Gaza Strip, Israel is waging a devastating war that has left tens of thousands of victims, most of them children and women, a humanitarian catastrophe and massive destruction of infrastructure and property, which led to Israel being brought before the International Court of Justice on charges of committing genocide.
