According to a Kremlin spokesman, the president means that against the backdrop of drone attacks and shelling of Russian populated areas, measures will be taken to secure Russian territory.
“They can only be secured by creating some kind of corridor, some kind of, indeed, buffer zone so that any means that the enemy can use to launch attacks are beyond their reach,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin said that if Russia establishes a sanitary zone in Ukraine, it will be difficult to overcome it with the weapons in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin said that the limits of the possible establishment of a sanitary zone in Ukraine will depend on the range of weapons used by the Ukrainian armed forces.
