Speaking about the current electoral system, the senator noted that it is quite “perfect”, but minor attempts are still being made to prevent Russians from voting in elections.

Matvienko, quoted by RIA Novosti, expressed confidence that “in this regard, legislation needs to be strengthened in terms of increasing the responsibility of citizens for such actions and increasing punishment for such acts.”

Earlier it was reported that 61 criminal cases were opened regarding violations related to the conduct of elections in Russia.
