  • Premiere The demanding maneuvers that await Princess Leonor these days

Last Friday, March 15, King Felipe VI moved to the San Gregorio maneuvering field.

There he witnessed the

tactical exercise

carried out by the 22nd company, to which the Princess of Asturias belongs.

The King was able to see part of the training of the ladies and gentlemen second-year cadets, including his first-born daughter, who had been on the ground for a week of maneuvers.

The Royal Family has distributed the images in which the Head of State can be seen witnessing the exercise.

Felipe VI has witnessed numerous instructions on the maneuvering field, but this is the most special, having been able to see

how the Princess of Asturias performs

on the ground.

Zarzuela once again takes another step in opening the heiress's training, and it is the third time that they have distributed images of Doña Leonor's training, who has been in her first year of military training since August 17.

The Heiress has an adapted study plan and now lives with her second-year classmates at the General Military Academy.

Doña Leonor combines theoretical classes, in which she is getting very good grades, with practical ones.

Thus, the Princess of Asturias has already experienced the rigors of life in San Gregorio twice this quarter.

The first-born of the Kings had her first practical training from February 5 to 9.

Then they practiced

combat modules in a platoon.

Since last March 11, the Princess and her companions have been interned again in San Gregorio.

There, they sleep in the Reina Cristina camp in individual tents and eat combat rations, go to the sites on foot and rehearse what has been established for these days.

According to what the Army reported to EL MUNDO, the objective in this case was to

improve the skills

necessary to exercise command of small military units, perfecting

their preparation at the Platoon level

,

they will carry out topography activities through tours in day and night environments, they will carry out combat training activities in urbanized areas, various individual shooting training exercises and activities aimed at strengthening their physical strength, improving fatigue resistance and

leadership development

as future officers.

Felipe VI was able to see the last section of these exercises and verify if the Princess has acquired the required knowledge.

Don Felipe took advantage of his stay in Zaragoza to travel from there to Formigal, where he spent the weekend skiing with friends, while his daughter continued with the exercises.

Because after the week in San Gregorio, and with hardly any time to recover, the second year students were transferred to the Toledo Infantry Academy

.

There, the Princess of Asturias and her companions will remain until March 23.

Doña Leonor is with her companions at the Los Alijares shooting range, a 1,500-hectare center where they can practice different shooting modalities, such as combat in urban areas.

The Princess of Asturias will return from there to Zaragoza until next March 27, when the Easter holidays will begin and she will be able to join her family in Madrid.

The Heiress is expected on

May 25

in Asturias, where Armed Forces Day will be celebrated.
