Vladimir Putin was re-elected on Sunday with 87% of the votes – even better than six years ago – at the end of an election without real opposition.

Since the start of the vast offensive in Ukraine, Russia has become the most sanctioned country in the world.

But its economy, entirely focused on the war effort, did better than resist.

No change is to be expected on this front.

Alongside military spending, Vladimir Putin promises to invest massively in infrastructure and new technologies.
