A “Place Net” operation took place this Monday morning in the city of La Castellane in Marseille, a hot spot for drug trafficking in the Marseille city.

CRS trucks were deployed at each entrance and exit to the neighborhood where the deal points and lookout posts were hastily abandoned.

It is one of the most sensitive districts of Marseille.

But also one of the most affected by drugs.

La Castellane witnessed a very large police raid this Monday, late in the morning, against a backdrop of drug trafficking.

An operation launched around 10 a.m.

Regarding the numbers mobilized, communication is, for the moment, blocked.

On site, CRS trucks are deployed at all entrances and exits to this city, described as a veritable spider's web.

Dog teams are also on site and the cars marked by the dogs are then inspected by the police who also use rams to force certain doors.

Substantial resources

Points of sale and lookout posts were hastily abandoned, as were sofas, barbecues and boards displaying drug prices.

The chicanes, installed by dealers using shopping carts and scooter carcasses, have been removed.

The resources deployed are in any case substantial for this “Place Net” operation in this city of La Castellane.

According to estimates, certain deal points have been able to bring in, in the past, up to 80,000 euros per day.
