The eight public service unions (CFDT, CFE-CGC, CGT, FA, FO, FSU, Solidaires, UNSA) call on the 5.7 million public employees to mobilize on Tuesday in Paris and in the regions to demand raises salary.

What should you expect?

Continuation of the salary standoff between the government and civil servants: the eight public service unions have joined forces and are calling on the 5.7 million public agents to mobilize on Tuesday in Paris and in the regions so that 2024 is not not a “blank year” in terms of remuneration.

General increases requested, the government defends the general increases already granted

General increases as well as "real negotiations" are requested by Marylise Léon, general secretary of the CFDT, for whom there are today 10%, or 500,000 civil servants, who earn less than 1,508 euros net per month.

Also at the heart of the unions' demands is the question of working conditions and career prospects.

Opposite, the government defends the general increases already granted in 2022 and 2023, in a budgetary context which has become tense in recent months.

Teachers on strike Tuesday

For the leader of the CGT, Sophie Binet, the government must “open immediate negotiations”.

“It is not normal for the purchasing power of civil servants to erode to this extent,” she insisted to our colleagues at RMC/BFMTV.

“Today, French civil servants are among the lowest paid - teachers, nurses, doctors... - and this creates a shortage of vocations which poses a problem for our public services to operate,” he said. -she assured.

National Education will also be on strike where teachers may not teach this Tuesday in schools, colleges and high schools.

Organizations are concerned about the drop in the Education budget and are calling for an increase in salaries.

According to the Snes-FSU, which represents the second degree, more than 120 demonstrations are planned throughout the territory.

Liberal nursing organizations will be in the streets

Price increase, recognition of the arduousness of being able to retire at 60 or 62 years old... Most liberal nursing organizations also called for a day of action throughout France on Tuesday, before a national demonstration on April 4 in Paris.

The Angry Nurses collective is the linchpin of these mobilizations, supported by two of the three unions representing the profession (Sniil and Convergence Infirmière).
