The Palestinian child Youssef, who was martyred as a result of the Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip last October (social networking sites)

One of the scenes in the events of the sixth episode of the Egyptian series “Lunch Box” angered a large segment of viewers, because it was considered a mockery of the tragedy of the martyrdom of the Palestinian child “Youssef” in the Gaza Strip last October, and he is known for describing his grieving mother searching for him among the victims. He is white (his skin is white) and his hair is curly and sweet.”

The scene began with a group of women asking about someone in a store, and Jamila Awad, one of the heroines of the work, says, “Excuse me, I am asking about someone (someone) named Youssef or Yassin... blond, with curly (curly) hair, and sweet,” with light laughter from the audience. An Egyptian series called (Lunch Box)... Viewers were surprised in its sixth episode when the actress said that she was looking for a person named “Youssef,” who is (white, with curly hair and sweet hair)...

The same text that the mother of the child Youssef, may God have mercy on him in #Gaza, was saying while looking for him and saying (His name is Youssef Abydani and his hair is curly and sweet) in a painful scene that he will never forget... pic.twitter.com/cvaWJ6qYdH

Immediately after the episode was shown, activists circulated the scene on social media platforms, demanding a boycott of the series, and the accounts of the series’ heroes were criticized by followers.

In addition to the calls to boycott the Lunchbox series, followers called for a boycott of the upcoming work of the series’ staff.

The least we can do about the decline of the #Lunch_Box series team is to boycott the work and all their upcoming work.

Perhaps the most prominent person who was attacked was actress Jamila Awad, the heroine of the scene, as followers asked her to provide an explanation for the scene, which many considered a mockery of a humanitarian disaster and a disdain for the viewers’ feelings, according to a number of tweets.

The comments on Jamila Awad’s Instagram account said, “Is there an explanation, artist, for the scene of the electronics store in the Lunch Box? The text, while you were rehearsing (rehearsing) the scene, didn’t you think (did it not remind you) of Joseph and his mother looking for him (looking for him) right and left, and in the end she found him (found him)?” ) In the refrigerator??.

In another comment, “The suffering of the people of Gaza is not because (it is not for) you acting in ridiculous series, God suffices me, and He is the best disposer of affairs,” and “People’s misfortunes have become a script (text) for laughter? God willing, you will live worse than her feelings, and someone writes a script for you.”

Jamila Awad tried to respond to the criticism she was subjected to after the episode was shown, so she wrote on her account on the This is an impossible thing to happen with the intention of not causing strife. I think people know well my position on the issue. I hope we unite against the enemy. This is the image of the actor.”

How come no way is not intended!!!!

This is what happened. The scene was written as brown, and suddenly, while we were saying, we gathered together that the actor who came was blond, so we changed one word. You are supposed to know that this is an impossible thing to happen with the intention of not causing strife. I think people know well my position on the issue. I hope we unite against the enemy 🇵🇸 This is a photo of the actor pic.twitter.com/V4b7lfLbSq

On the other hand, followers via social media platforms contacted the author of the work, Amr Medhat, who revealed, according to circulating tweets, that the original text of the series did not include that sentence, but rather, according to the text of the scene that he published, it was supposed to be searching for a person called “Saif or Selim.. He's dark and wears glasses."

The author denied knowledge of the change that occurred in the previous scene and its appearance in this picture.

In an account attributed to the director of the series, Hisham Al-Rashidi, on the X platform, he wrote a tweet that included the following apology: “A due apology to everyone for whom the text of the painful scene for our brothers was similar to the text of the scene of the series, which was completely unintended. The issue has not and will never be a field for anything other than all support and respect. God bless He gives patience to our people in Palestine and helps them.”

An apology is due to everyone for whom the text of the painful scene of our sisters resembles the text of the scene of the series, which was completely unintended

The issue has not and will never be room for anything other than all support and respect.

May God give patience to our people in Palestine and help them
