Events The National Police arrest 17 people for drug trafficking in a sauna in the center of Madrid
A 40-year-old man was raped by two people last Saturday morning inside the Paraíso gay sauna, located on North Street in the Malasaña neighborhood, in the Centro district of Madrid.
The Police arrested one of those involved, a 25-year-old Romanian man, at the same location
and are looking for the second attacker.
The arrest was made by agents from the Center district.
The case is now being investigated by agents of the UFAM (Family and Women's Unit) of the Judicial Police Brigade in charge of this type of crime and
it is suspected that the man may have been drugged.
The victim told the police that he woke up inside the sauna and that two young men were penetrating him anally and orally.
At that moment, she called for help.
One of the two attackers escaped and the other was caught in the same sauna.
The man who suffered this sexual assault
decided to tell the events on a social network when he was already at the Jiménez Díaz Foundation
, where he was transferred by Samur in the early hours of Saturday to be assisted.

The Paraíso sauna, with a spa and private areas, is a very famous place among the LGTBI community.
It remains open 24 hours a day and many people come to the premises,
including many tourists.
The National Police and the Municipal Police have carried out several raids on the sauna in which
some people have been arrested for a crime against public health.
They carried cash and various narcotic substances prepared for distribution, mostly ecstasy, GHB, methamphetamines, mephedrone and stimulant pills.
In the midst of the pandemic, on September 13, 2020, eight people were also arrested for drug trafficking, and most of the hundred attendees were reported for not wearing a mask.
On January 1, 2021,
the Municipal Police evacuated the sauna due to overcrowding
and because the people inside did not respect the safety distance or the use of masks.
In addition, some customers smoked and the establishment had a bar that dispensed alcoholic beverages, despite not having a license, police sources reported.
And already in May 2022, the Health Department of the Community of Madrid ordered the closure of this sauna for three weeks as it was
the initial focus of the monkeypox outbreak registered in the region.
Since then it has been operating normally.
