At the scene of the explosion, metal and plastic parts of the exploded drone were found, including electric motors, fragments of the frame, electronic boards and batteries.

“A criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art.

277 of the Criminal Code of the PMR (“Sabotage”),” the press release said.

The Investigative Committee will conduct an examination and identify the explosive with which the drone was filled.

The Ministry of State Security of Transnistria previously reported that on March 17, a military unit was attacked by a kamikaze drone, an explosion and fire occurred at the facility, but no one was killed.

As it became known later, the old non-working helicopter burned down as a result of the attack; this was caught on video.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu believes that the attack on the helicopter was a provocation “to maintain tension.”
