  Judging from his past resume, Liu Yuejin came from a criminal investigation major and has been deeply involved in the public security system for many years.

  The resume shows that Liu Yuejin, born in January 1959, is from Ningyuan, Hunan. He joined the Communist Party of China in September 1977 and started working in November 1974. He majored in criminal investigation at Southwest University of Political Science and Law, has a university degree and a bachelor's degree in law.

  After graduating from university, Liu Yuejin entered the Tianjin Municipal Public Security Bureau, starting as a grassroots investigator and serving successively as director of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, deputy director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, deputy director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau and director of the Criminal Investigation Bureau.

  Liu Yuejin has led anti-drug work for a long time and has presided over many major and important cases including the "Mekong 10·5 Case".

  In October 2011, the "Nuokang Group" on the border of Myanmar and Thailand in Southeast Asia committed the "Mekong 10.5 Case" and killed 13 Chinese crew members, shocking the world.

Liu Yuejin led the members of the task force, and after more than six months of hard work, they captured Nuokang, the first criminal of the drug trafficking group who planned and implemented the "10·5 Case".

  After that, Liu Yuejin switched to counter-terrorism.

In October 2014, Liu Yuejin was appointed as a member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Public Security and concurrently as Assistant Minister. The following year, he was appointed as Deputy Director of the National Narcotics Control Commission, Director of the Office of the National Narcotics Control Commission, and Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Public Security.
