On the 163rd day of the war on Gaza, and the seventh day of the holy month of Ramadan, disagreements emerged publicly between the American administration and the Israeli government, at a time when an Israeli minister criticized the army.

The Israeli occupation continues its bombing of Gaza, amid demands to intensify the entry of aid by land, while countries continue to drop it by air.

Conflict of powers

Israeli Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy said that he has the authority and responsibility to send soldiers to the battlefield and make appointment decisions, and that halting appointments to the army command will harm its work, noting that there are people who were injured during the battles and must be replaced.

Occupation Army Radio reported that Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy will tomorrow conduct a huge process of appointments to the Israeli army at the rank of colonel.

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich commented on the army's announcement of new appointments, saying that he would ask the Israeli cabinet to stop the appointments.

He added that if Halevy did not understand on his own that he should not be preoccupied with appointments that he described as “non-urgent,” he would make him understand that through the cabinet, as he put it.

Smotrich also attacked the General Staff of the occupation army, and Channel 12 quoted Smotrich as saying, “The Army General Staff caused one of the biggest disasters in the country.”

Israeli media also reported that Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir attacked the behavior of Defense Minister Yoav Galant and claimed in today's government meeting that he follows an independent policy.

The media added that Ben Gvir told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the government session that he is Gallant's boss and should not be left to do what he wants.

The families of Israeli prisoners held by the resistance in the Gaza Strip demonstrated in front of the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv to demand the acceleration of the conclusion of the exchange deal with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Land aid is safer

On the humanitarian level, Juliet Touma, Director of Media and Communication at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), said that the arrival of humanitarian aid by land to the Gaza Strip is “the safest, easiest, fastest and least expensive option.”

Touma added that UNRWA "is the only UN agency that is responsible for the vast majority of humanitarian work in Gaza."

For his part, Gaza Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal told Al Jazeera that more than 400 martyrs were killed while waiting for aid in the Gaza Strip.

He added that 6 trucks arrived in northern Gaza today and were secured in UNRWA centers, and said that the occupation's procedures are hindering this.

The Jordanian army announced the implementation of 6 airdrops of food aid to the northern Gaza Strip, with the participation of Egypt, the United States, and Germany.

It is noteworthy that some landings caused the death and injury of a number of Palestinians due to problems in the landing operations.

Jordan, with the participation of several countries, continues to carry out airdrops of relief aid to the Strip.

On the ground, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority said that an Israeli drone crashed - this Sunday morning - into a house in one of the Israeli towns on the border of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army said that a soldier from the 601st Combat Engineering Battalion was seriously injured during the battles in the central Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, reported that it shot down an Israeli infantry drone while it was carrying out intelligence missions east of Gaza City.

Amnesty International called on US President Joe Biden to take action and demand an immediate and sustainable ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and to stop the transfer of weapons to Israel.

She stressed the need to "stop the transfer of weapons to Israel."

She explained that "more than 30,000 people have been killed so far in the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip, many of them with American-made munitions."

American-Israeli disputes

Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Ben Cardin, said that he is deeply concerned about what is happening in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis there.

He said that the United States has great influence on Israel, but it does not use this influence on Israel by imposing conditions, and accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition of causing major divisions in Israel before the seventh of last October.

On the other hand, Netanyahu criticized the speech of Democratic Majority Leader in the US Senate, Chuck Schumer, regarding Israel, saying that it was inappropriate and unacceptable to try to replace the elected leadership in a brotherly democratic country.

In a speech to Congress, Schumer called for new elections in Israel and described the Israeli Prime Minister as an obstacle to peace. Later, US President Joe Biden praised his speech and described it as good.

In this context, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that the administration of US President Joe Biden is cooperating with what he described as the “dangerous campaign” of the international boycott movement that aims to harm Israel and distort its image.

Smotrich stressed that Israel should not tolerate US sanctions on settlers under any circumstances.

In recent months, the Biden administration imposed several sanctions on settlers it accused of involvement in violence in the West Bank, indicating the United States' growing dissatisfaction with the policies of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Continuous bombing

Al Jazeera's correspondent confirmed the martyrdom of a Palestinian in an Israeli artillery shelling east of the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, as air strikes continued on several areas in Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip.

Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that 5 martyrs were recovered from Hamad Town, south of the Gaza Strip, after a partial withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that the occupation continues to arrest 13 members of its crews and volunteers, and their fate remains unknown until this moment.

Al Jazeera's correspondent confirmed the death of 12 Palestinians - most of them women and children - as a result of an Israeli bombing that targeted a house in Deir al-Balah.

Al Jazeera's correspondent said that 7 martyrs and a large number of wounded arrived shortly before at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital after an Israeli bombing targeted a house in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

Developments in the West Bank

Regarding developments in the West Bank, Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that violent clashes broke out between the occupation forces and Palestinian youths, and explosions were heard during the ongoing raid by the Israeli army into the city of Nablus in the West Bank.

Local Palestinian media said that the occupation forces stormed the town of Beitunia, west of Ramallah in the West Bank.

Lebanon Front

The Lebanese Hezbollah said that it targeted a gathering of occupation soldiers opposite the town of Al-Wazzani, confirming that its target was accurately hit. Al-Jazeera's correspondent reported that an Israeli raid had occurred on the vicinity of the town of Alma Al-Shaab in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority announced that a senior Israeli officer survived after Hezbollah fired a guided missile at midnight at a military vehicle.
