Serbia: controversy over Donald Trump's son-in-law's investment project in Belgrade

Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of former United States President Donald Trump, announced on X (formerly Twitter) on March 15 his intention to invest in real estate in the Balkans, Albania and Belgrade.

But in the Serbian capital, the information caused a stir.

Indeed, the land concerned, located in the very center of the Serbian capital, would be allocated free of charge for 99 years to an offshore company belonging to Jared Kushner.

The son-in-law of

the former American president

, husband of Ivanka Trump since 2009, could even become the owner of the land without having to pay a cent.

If the Minister of Infrastructure, Goran Vesic, denies the existence of an agreement between Serbia and Jared Kushner, he admits to having been mandated to negotiate.

Furthermore, a government document is circulating in the media and mentions an agreement already signed between the parties.

Faced with this contradictory information, the leader of an opposition environmentalist party asks for this agreement to be made public, and announces he is launching a petition against the project.
