A surprise from Bruno Le Maire in the JDD.

The Minister of the Economy has his sights set on the presidential election of 2027. On the occasion of the release of his book The French Voice, by Flammarion, he reveals his ambitions to succeed Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée.

No need for an official announcement.

The words of Bruno Le Maire in

Le Journal du Dimanche

show his course to the doors of the Élysée Palace.

The Minister of the Economy advocates a Big Bang for our social model, also wishing for the end of the welfare state.

Free everything, for everyone, all the time, is untenable, he assures.

“Let’s wake up to China and the United States”

According to Bruno Le Maire, due to a lack of resources, the French must choose between caring for, innovating, protecting or transmitting.

He suggests reducing our social spending.

A speech that goes against the grain of his budgetary policy since his arrival at Bercy.

The Minister of the Economy also addresses other major issues such as his plea in favor of the referendum or his heartfelt cry to the European Union, “let's wake up to China and the United States”.

In this battle for 2027, Bruno Le Maire is trying to catch up behind Édouard Philippe and Gérald Darmanin, his two friends and former UMP comrades are therefore becoming more and more his main competitors to succeed Emmanuel Macron every day.
