The leadership of the Democratic Party fears that Biden's position on the war in the Gaza Strip will affect Biden's chances in the upcoming (European) presidential elections.

The American network NBC quoted an informed source as saying that President Joe Biden became angry and began screaming and cursing after he was informed in a private meeting at the White House at the end of last January of the decline in his opinion poll results in the states of Michigan and Georgia due to his position on the war on the Gaza Strip. .

The source, a congressional representative, quoted Biden as confirming that he was doing the right thing despite the political repercussions.

A White House spokesman told NBC that the president makes national security decisions based on the country's needs and not on any other factor.

The network pointed out the importance of the states of Michigan and Georgia in the upcoming presidential elections, in which Joe Biden will once again face Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Biden won the last presidential election by a slight margin over Trump in those two states.

Despite his easy victory in the Democratic Party primary elections and obtaining a sufficient number of party delegate votes to run in the presidential elections, in recent months the American president has faced growing dissatisfaction due to his position in support of Israel in its war on the Gaza Strip, especially among voters of Arab origin and the youth.

In the Michigan primary elections in late February, Biden lost the votes of more than 100,000 Democratic voters who voted “noncommittal.”

Two weeks ago, Reuters quoted officials in the Democratic Party and the White House that the US President's election campaign was surprised by the extent of anger and frustration within the party over Washington's support for Israel in its war on Gaza and other issues.

The agency also quoted one of Biden's senior campaign advisors as saying that the party was harmed by its support for Israel more than expected, and officials said that anger over Biden's handling of the Gaza Strip war may lead to a decline in support for him.
