A smart weather station for drones has been developed in Russia

The mobile weather station is called “Meteosonic”.

It was developed by the company of the same name near Moscow. 

This station will be able to create short-term forecasts of local weather conditions when used together with a neural network.

According to project manager and developer Oleg Kudryavtsev, the station measures air temperature, wind direction and speed and transmits the received data to the user via radio in real time.

“The station can be used to adjust the flight mission of unmanned aerial vehicles to the final flight point or in the interests of law enforcement agencies and special services when guiding drones to a target.

It can be installed not only in cities on infrastructure facilities, but also, for example, on ships, including small ones, or on mobile platforms,” says Kudryavtsev.

The cost of the station does not exceed 60 thousand rubles.

At the same time, as the developer clarified, this is “the only development in its segment on the Russian market with a high level of accuracy and AI-based forecasting.”
