US Senator Sanders said that there is global anger at the Netanyahu government (French)

US Senator Bernie Sanders told NBC that there is global anger towards Benjamin Netanyahu's government, which caused hundreds of thousands of children to starve in the Gaza Strip, stressing that it is not possible to continue funding Netanyahu's war machine.

For his part, Senator Chris Van Hollen said that Netanyahu's ignoring of President Joe Biden's warnings makes the United States appear helpless.

Hollin added that the president's administration must use other tools to effectively translate the warnings directed at Israel.

NBC quoted American officials as saying that the White House is considering a response if Israel defies Biden's warning against invading Rafah without protecting civilians.

It also attributed to American officials that they advised Israel to avoid a large operation in Rafah and replace it with “missions more targeted at terrorists.”

"Red line"

The American newspaper "Politico" previously reported that senior officials informed their Israeli counterparts that the Biden administration would support them in achieving their plans to carry out an operation in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip to pursue what it described as high-value targets of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), but on the condition that the matter be completed without a large-scale invasion that may occur. It causes massive casualties among civilians.

The newspaper explained that the Biden administration is currently considering the Israeli military operation that it could accept to implement in Rafah, and noted that Biden a few days ago set a “red line” stating that Israel should not carry out its campaign in Rafah without reliable plans to protect civilians.

The Israeli newspaper Maariv quoted the Prime Minister as saying that there is international pressure to prevent a military operation in Rafah, but it will not prevent him from launching this operation.

According to the newspaper, Netanyahu said, "As Prime Minister of Israel, I will continue to repel these pressures... We will enter Rafah and complete the elimination of the remaining Hamas brigades."
