He also added that if the actions of the attackers constitute other crimes under Chapter.

29 of the Criminal Code of Russia (crimes against the foundations of the constitutional order and security of the state), and under other articles of the criminal law.

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council emphasized that this kind of sabotage is “direct assistance to those degenerates who are shelling our cities today.” 

Earlier, the head of the Russian State Duma Security Committee, Vasily Piskarev, said that arson and similar actions at polling stations could be classified as sabotage or terrorist attacks.

On March 16, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Russia, Ella Pamfilova, said that attempts to spoil ballot boxes, as well as the ballots in them, occurred in 20 regions of the country at 29 polling stations.
