The head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, held a meeting at the headquarters of the joint group of forces, the department said in a statement.
The Minister heard reports from commanders on the current situation in operational directions in the area of the Northern Military District, the nature of enemy actions and the fulfillment of tasks by the Russian Armed Forces in the main directions.
Shoigu focused on reports on the effectiveness of reconnaissance and strike contours, as well as on the effectiveness of counter-battery warfare.
In turn, the head of the headquarters of the joint group of forces, Colonel General Alexei Kim, reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were suffering significant losses in equipment and manpower as a result of the use of high-precision weapons and attack drones by the Russian military.
According to him, within a week, as a result of the effective work of reconnaissance and strike systems, three American Patriot complexes, a Vampire multiple launch rocket system combat vehicle, more than ten foreign-made artillery systems and warehouses of fuels, lubricants and ammunition were destroyed.
In addition, as a result of a precise air strike on the location of the nationalist formation "Kraken", up to 300 militants were killed.
Among other things, at the command post the minister was presented with data on objective monitoring of the destruction of enemy military equipment and manpower.
At the end of February, Shoigu also inspected the Russian group of troops “Center” in the Northern Military District zone.
During the visit, the head of the Russian Defense Ministry heard reports from the commander of the Center group of troops and headquarters officers on the current situation, enemy actions and the performance of combat missions by the Russian Armed Forces.
During Shoigu’s visit, the commander of the group of troops, Colonel General Andrei Mordvichev, said that during the previous operation to liberate Avdeevka, the enemy was thrown back from their positions by more than 10 km.
In addition, the head of the Ministry of Defense was presented with samples of foreign captured military equipment, and was also informed about the mass surrender of Ukrainian Armed Forces military personnel in Avdiivka.
Shoigu responded by emphasizing the importance of humane treatment of prisoners.
At the beginning of March, the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense spoke at a thematic conference call with the leadership of the Russian Armed Forces.
The minister said that the Russian military did not allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to gain a foothold after fleeing Avdiivka.
According to him, the Russian Armed Forces continued to push the enemy westward.
In particular, the ministry’s report for the period from February 24 to March 1 stated that units of the Center group of troops liberated the settlements of Lastochkino, Severnoye and Petrovskoye in the DPR.
Subsequent weekly reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense on the progress of the special operation also reported that in the Avdeevsky direction, units of the Center group continued to occupy more advantageous lines and positions.
In particular, the report for the period from March 9 to March 15 states that in one week the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 2,710 military personnel killed and wounded in the Avdiivka direction, three tanks, including the American Abrams, as well as 19 armored combat vehicles and 18 field artillery pieces .
