  • Courts Eight years in prison for Pineda and four for Bernad for extorting banks and savings banks through Ausbanc and Manos Cleans

  • Case Nóos Cleans Hands and Ausbanc tried to extort the lawyer of Infanta Cristina

The Supreme Court has agreed to acquit the president of Ausbanc,

Luis Pineda

, and the director of Manos Cleans,

Miguel Bernard

- convicted as a necessary cooperator - of the crimes of extortion and fraud, considering that the pressures they used in their negotiations were legal and that it has not been possible to identify what the deception attributed to them consisted of.

The magistrates have thus agreed to annul the sentence handed down by the National Court by which they were sentenced to terms of eight and four years in prison, respectively.

They were accused of extorting banking entities in exchange for avoiding legal action or smear campaigns.

The Criminal Chamber thus annuls the sentence imposed by the National Court in a case in which it was not proven that they exerted that pressure to withdraw the accusation against Infanta

Cristina

in Nóos.
