In his address, Pedicini noted that Vladimir Zelensky, in the presence of Italian Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni, said that he would compile a list of “Putin’s fans in Italy” and that the Italian government should supposedly “cancel their visas and expel them.”

“Does the European Commission consider the statements of the President of Ukraine acceptable?”

- asked the parliamentarian.

He also asked whether the EC views Zelensky’s words as “a clear attempt to intimidate and indirectly threaten” people in Italy who do not agree with the government’s foreign policy regarding the conflict in Ukraine.

Pedicini also recalled the existence of the “Peacemaker” website, which contains the names and addresses of everyone whom the creators consider “enemies of Ukraine.”

“They are given this label if their opinion differs from the government line,” the deputy emphasized.

The European Parliament called for the site to be stopped, but Ukrainian services consider its activities legal, Pedicini emphasized.

According to political scientist Yuri Svetov, the current authorities of Western countries, including Italy, continue to adhere to anti-Russian policies, even if this contradicts the interests of the residents.

“People say to Meloni’s face that there is Putin, who cares about his country, and there is she, who is concerned with Ukraine much more than with Italy.

People burned utility bills and showed them to her.

Russia is an example, a reproach to those politicians who are not engaged in defending the interests of their country, but in carrying out the will of the Washington master,” the analyst said in a conversation with RT.

Svetov also noted that in the West they would like to “cancel” Russia, just as Russian culture was “cancelled” at the beginning of a special military operation.

“Pretend that we don’t exist and you live a wonderful life... But we exist.

We have to reckon with Russia,” he added.

Earlier, MEP from Greece Emmanuel Frangos proposed gradually overcoming the mistrust that exists between the EU and Russia.
