As RIA Novosti reports, this was stated by the first deputy permanent representative of Russia to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky.

It is noted that at a meeting of the UN Security Council, a number of Western diplomats and their allies repeated the thesis about “fake elections” on the “territory of Ukraine.”

“Whether someone likes it or not, today presidential elections began in Russia, which will last three days and will be held, among other things, in new Russian regions that joined our country as a result of free expression of will in September 2022,” the diplomat said.

Earlier, the Russian Embassy in the United States began to receive threats against the backdrop of the presidential elections.

Also, the Russian Ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, said that “defectors” from Russia will not interfere with voting in the US elections.
