Franz-Olivier Giesbert, journalist and author of “Intimate History of the Fifth Republic, Volume 3 French Tragedy”, was the guest of La Grande interview Europe 1-CNews.

Questioned by Gilles Bouleau and Anne-Sophie Lapix in the television news of TF1 and France 2 on Thursday, Emmanuel Macron spoke in particular on France's support for Ukraine as well as on security in Europe and in France.

An interview in which the Head of State was “excellent” according to journalist Franz-Olivier Giesbert, guest of La Grande interview Europe 1-CNews on Friday.

"I am an honest journalist [...] I regularly hit out at Emmanuel Macron and there, frankly, it was sober, it was good", he said.

The head of state reaffirmed Thursday that it was unthinkable for him that Moscow would prevail on the ground in Ukraine.

And to evoke, when speaking of Vladimir Putin, “a person who crossed all limits”.

"A few months ago, Ukraine was not in this situation and a few months ago, we did not think that Donald Trump was perhaps going to win the elections [...] when we look a little further, there is a form of concern", continued the writer judging that it was necessary to show the muscles to Vladimir Putin. 

Emmanuel Macron has not ruled out sending ground troops.
