The head of the region, Sergei Aksyonov, wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

“Together with the heads of the authorities of the Republic of Crimea and law enforcement agencies, the spiritual leaders of Crimea and distinguished guests, I laid flowers at the monument to the “People's Militia of All Times” in Simferopol,” the message says.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Crimea an integral part of Russia.

The Russian leader has repeatedly emphasized that the issue of Crimea is closed for Russia, and the referendum on the peninsula was held in strict accordance with international law.

Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum took place there in March 2014: the majority of residents were in favor of reunification with Russia.
