The American ABC network quoted a senior Israeli official as saying that the United States has begun delaying some military aid to Israel.

However, the network, on the other hand, quoted high-ranking American officials that there was no intentional delay in the delivery of previously agreed upon aid or arms sales to Israel, and that there was no change in Washington’s policy in this regard.

The Israeli official said that they are not sure of the reason for the delay, but they are aware of the extent of the United States’ frustration with the war, in reference to what is reported in the media about the dissatisfaction of the administration of US President Joe Biden with the behavior of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in light of his government’s obstruction of humanitarian aid and the escalation of the number of civilian casualties. In the Gaza Strip.

He added that any delay in the delivery of American aid raises concern, especially since European countries have become reluctant to sell weapons to Israel.

The Israeli official also said that Israel may lose the war if ammunition and legitimacy are not available, adding that both are running out, as he put it.

Ammunition shortage

ABC quoted the same official as saying that the Israeli army has a shortage of artillery shells and tank shells, and is in need of some sensitive guidance equipment.

Last Sunday, the Israeli newspaper "Haaretz" revealed what it described as an unprecedented air and sea bridge in Israel's history to supply it with American weapons, in support of its military operations in Gaza.

Since the beginning of the war on Gaza last October, the United States has sent large quantities of ammunition and weapons, and according to Israeli media, the arms shipments included dozens of F-35 and F-15 fighters and Apache helicopters.

Last month, US House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson unveiled legislation to provide new military aid to Israel worth $17.6 billion as part of its war on Gaza.

It is noteworthy that voices have been raised in the US Congress to demand the imposition of restrictions on arms exports to Israel if it continues to obstruct the arrival of aid to Gaza.
