, lawyer for the former president of the Generalitat, maintains that the leader of
Junts per Catalunya
"is willing" to do so and has assumed that he will be the party's candidate in the
Catalan elections
on
May 12
.
In an interview on Rac1, Boye has admitted that there is a possibility that the police could arrest Puigdemont when he crosses the border and enters Spanish territory.
"What will not be able to prevent him from being president of the Generalitat," says the lawyer, who has indicated that "the only ones who can prevent it are the Catalans when they vote."
Boye maintains that both the President of the Government,
Pedro Sánchez
, and the President of the Generalitat,
Pere Aragonès
, fear that the current Junts MEP "is a candidate for the elections, wins them and could be invested."
One day after the approval of the proposed Amnesty Law in the Congress of Deputies, Puigdemont's lawyer asserts that "the entire legal framework has been created so that he can return under the conditions that he decides."
