The Axios news website revealed that US President Joe Biden described the October 7 attack (Al-Aqsa Flood) as “an event that will change the world and reverberate throughout the 21st century.” This came a day after the attack launched by the Palestinian resistance led by the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing. The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), in response to the escalation of Israeli attacks against holy sites and Palestinians.

According to the American news site, President Biden's initial reaction to the attack was recorded in the text of the 5-hour interviews he conducted with private investigator Robert Hoare on October 8 and 9 last year.

At the time, Hoare was investigating Biden's handling of classified documents in his capacity as Vice President.

Axios noted that from the first hours after the attack, Biden - who has defined himself for decades as a "Zionist" - expressed his full support for Israel and ordered the US government to mobilize military and diplomatic support for the main ally of the United States in the region.

During those interviews - according to Axios - Biden was referring to events in Israel, where President Biden told investigator Robert Hoare at the beginning of his interview on October 8 that “we may be interrupted. I just got off the phone with Bibi Netanyahu.”

Biden's phone calls with then-Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were dramatic.

The Israeli Prime Minister was still in shock from the surprise attack that killed more than 1,200 Israelis and detained more than 250 others.

The American news site's report indicates that at some point during his interview with Hoare on October 8, Biden expressed his opinion about the potential consequences of the new crisis in the Middle East.

Biden said, “I believe the world is going through major inflection points (..)” and that the results of this will determine what the next six or seven decades will look like.

At the end of his interviews with the president, Hoare presented a report that caused a political storm because he decided not to accuse Biden of mishandling classified documents, but he also commented on Biden's memory loss during the interviews.

During their interview on October 9, Biden told Hoare that he called Senator Cory Booker (D-N.J.), who was in Israel on October 7, to make sure he was okay.

A spokesman for Booker confirmed that Biden called the senator while he was in Israel the weekend of the attacks.

According to Axios, the White House did not respond to questions regarding what Biden told investigator Hoare regarding his description of the Palestinian resistance attack on October 7 on Israeli military sites and settlements around the Gaza Strip.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip that has left tens of thousands of civilians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, in addition to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and massive destruction of infrastructure, which led to Tel Aviv being brought before the International Court of Justice on charges of genocide.
