Angolan President João Lourenço visits China for four days

The Angolan president arrived in China on Thursday March 14 for a four-day official visit.

Protocol and official day this Friday in the Chinese capital for João Lourenço, before a trip to the east of the country to talk business.

The Angolan president is visiting China from March 14 to 17.

Angola, an Eldorado for China

Angola remains the oil El Dorado for China, which represents nearly 53% of Angolan crude oil exports.

It is also a vital trading partner for Luanda.

Bilateral trade between the two countries exceeded $27 billion in 2022, according to

the China News agency

.

 The agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments

 ”, signed in December 2023 for the 40th anniversary of Sino-Angolan relations, should make it possible to revive Chinese investments in Angola and in particular in the special economic zone of Luanda-Bengo or 10% of companies are already Chinese.

Representatives of 10 Angolan public companies are part of the delegation.

At least two events are planned in Beijing for the business community.

President Lourenço must also go to the eastern province of Shandong, where Russian businessmen parade and where certain road signs are translated into Cyrillic.

A coastal province renowned for its agriculture, but also for its textile and pharmaceutical industries.

The Angolan president is also due to meet his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping and sign a series of cooperation agreements, according to Chinese state media.
