The eight members called on Biden to give Israel a choice between expanding the scope of aid entering Gaza or losing American military aid (Anatolia)

Washington -

The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), one of the most important Jewish lobby organizations in the United States, accused 8 female senators of hating Jews, and considered them extremists in their hostility to Israel.

The organization condemned the eight senators sending a message condemning Israel and its ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip, and the resulting humanitarian tragedies that reached the point of spreading famine in some of its areas, considering the message “shameful” and “supportive of the Hamas movement,” as the members called on President Joe Biden to direct “ "An ultimatum to Israel" to expand the scope of aid entering Gaza, or lose US military aid.

The ZOA statement - which was seen by Al Jazeera Net - said that the eight members of the Senate "are helping the Hamas terrorist army, and making peace impossible, when they defame the Jewish State of Israel, and promote cutting off life-saving military aid to Israel at this time."

Who is to blame?

All eight members are Democrats: Bernie Sanders, a Jew from Vermont, Jeff Merkley (Oregon), Chris Van Hollen (Maryland), Peter Welch (Vermont), Tina Smith (Minnesota), Elizabeth Warren (Massachusetts), and Ben Ray Luján (New Mexico).

In their letter to the White House, the eight members cited Vice President Kamala Harris’ statement about children dying from malnutrition in Gaza, which the organization considered falsely placing the blame on Israel, and that Hamas is responsible for these deaths. It also indicated that the death toll inside The Palestinian sector is greatly exaggerated.

ZOA accused the eight senators of extreme hatred of Israel, and that they falsely said that “the restrictions imposed by Israel on the access of humanitarian aid are one of the main causes of this humanitarian catastrophe.” The letter then demands an immediate halt to military aid to Israel.

The organization's statement indicated, "It is shameful that Biden is also considering cutting off military aid to Israel if it takes the necessary step to destroy the Hamas stronghold in Rafah, due to the possibility of killing Palestinians."

He added, "The reality is that Israel continues to allow the entry of huge amounts of humanitarian aid, and continues to minimize civilian casualties, and if it does not go to war because of the civilians who are dying, Hamas will win and remain in power to slaughter more Israelis and Americans."

Organization demands

ZOA called for “the need to remember several facts” as follows:

  • Israel was the party that initiated the idea of introducing humanitarian aid by sea, with checkpoints in Cyprus, during Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s talks with President Biden, so it was a shame for the latter to announce in his State of the Union address that he would finally begin “bringing in aid.” By sea, because we are not waiting for the Israelis.”

  • Three Israeli teams - the Israeli International Cooperation Division of the Strategic Planning and Cooperation Directorate, the Gaza Coordination and Liaison Department of its Government Coordination Unit, the 98th Division and the Israeli Air Force - worked in cooperation with 5 countries to drop 160 packages of food and medical equipment to the residents of southern Gaza. and the Jordanian field hospital in Khan Yunis (including fuel supplies to the hospital).

  • Israel facilitates the entry of several hundred tons of humanitarian supplies each day, although Hamas possesses many essential supplies that it can provide itself to the civilian population, and Israel also provides water to Gaza from its own supplies.

Netanyahu is the scapegoat

After Biden directed some blame at Israel for what he considered “a significant escalation in its aggression against the Gaza Strip,” the head of the Zionist Organization of America, Morton Klein, issued a statement, saying that “Biden exceeded his limits with regard to his criticism of Israeli military operations inside the Gaza Strip.”

The organization's statement said, "Biden's condemnation of Israel's response ignores reality, as Israel strictly follows humanitarian law, makes unprecedented efforts to avoid harming civilians, and is fighting - and must defeat - the genocidal terrorist groups Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which pledge to repeat the October 7 massacres." /October over and over again, until Israel is annihilated.”

In the same context, with mounting American street pressure due to the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who is Jewish, issued an exceptionally sharp rebuke to the Israeli government and called for the overthrow of its leader, Netanyahu.

Schumer condemned Netanyahu as having "lost his way in the middle of Israel's battle with Hamas," saying, "Netanyahu's coalition no longer fits Israel's needs, and I believe new elections are the only way to allow for a healthy, open decision-making process about Israel's future." Schumer, who has supported Israel for 25 years, warned. A Senate ruling said that those losses in Gaza risked turning Israel into a “pariah state.”

The Wall Street Journal editorial - which is classified as conservative - considered that the Democrats "are making Prime Minister Netanyahu a scapegoat to appease the anti-Israel American left." It said that the Democrats "are searching for a way for Israel to win the war against Hamas, in a way that reduces the anger of the anti-Israel left." in the United States".

The American newspaper added, "The attack on Israel by the Democrats may backfire in Israel, as it has been denounced as unwelcome interference in internal Israeli political affairs."
